Biological markers (biomarkers) have been described as “cellular, biochemical or molecular alterations that are measurable in biological media such as human tissues, cells, or fluids  and can aid in understanding the prediction, cause, diagnosis, progression, regression, or outcome of treatment of disease. BIOMIC_AUTh group has long experience in planning, organising and successfully executing several biomarker discovery studies on conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, obesity, metabolic syndrome, premature birth, physical activity and physical exercise, ageing and other conditions. BIOMIC_AUTh staff also supports clinical studies on the validation of disease biomarkers of prostate cancer, cardiovascular disease, neurodegenerative diseases and several other studies of clinical interest.
